Our luxurious, sprawling (private) retreat estate
Southern Splendor Manor is a luxury estate located that spans the border between Durham and Chapel Hill, NC.  The 23-acre property boasts three wonderful buildings: the Main House, the Carriage House and the Tennis Complex.
Ten unique bedrooms with an assortment of beds, some with ensuite bathrooms. All linens furnished, of course.
Behind the main house is a pool and hot tub for lounging or swimming, covered area for relaxing and complete privacy.
Southern Splendor Manor is fenced and gated and even though it is minutes from the Raleigh-Durham International Airport, the seclusion is absolute.Â
The Main House
Nestled deep into the estate, the Main House on the main campus is a gorgeous example of Southern architecture. From the massive front columns to the elegant circular staircase, the house exudes a welcome that is on par with sweet tea and NC BBQ.
The main floor includes the living room, dining room, library, kitchen and breakfast room plus a half bath.
Downstairs is the game room, three bedrooms, the theater room, laundry, tunnel between houses and pool access. Four more bedrooms upstairs (see the Bedrooms page for details and pricing).
The Carriage House
The Carriage House is adjacent to the Main House and has its own unique flavor. Originally conceived as a business center, there is a sprawling conference table, leather sofa and chair and an amazing glass divider with scenes from a palm-filled beach. Behind the screen is a mini kitchen.
The Carriage House has converted three rooms to bedrooms (see detail on Bedrooms page) with a full bath upstairs and another in the basement. The basement has access to the tunnel that connects to the Main House. There is plenty of parking behind Carriage House for all the vehicles that arrive for the retreat.
The Tennis Complex
The Tennis Complex was designed for professional players to train with both indoor and outdoor courts. Bring your racket if you play tennis – available rain or shine. There is a pool table and an enormous gym facility with room to move, dance, exercise, lift and then shower and change in the spacious “locker room” (which has marble floors!). Take special note of the impressive crystal chandelier and marble staircase.
